Tablet and capsule handling
ITCM has expertise in a wide range of capsule and tablet handling and processing technologies. Our skills lie in the ability to control and manipulate individual tablets at high speeds, at the same time safe-guarding against damage.
We specialise in innovative processing of tablets and capsules, including assembly solutions for multiple component drug forms, capsule filling, low impact coating, printing and other specialist processes to control drug release and drug performance. New technologies such as low impact coating increase yield by eliminating the damage that can occur with conventional handling and coating systems.
We have integrated vision systems for twin-sided inspection of tablets, including the bellyband and OCR (optical character recognition) to verify printed tablets. For blisters, vision is employed to detect and reject any pinholes in packaging.
Solid dose technologies
Our design teams partner with the customer’s research and development specialists on the next generation of solid dose technology. We support R&D and clinical trial activities with the design and development of test rigs and prototype machinery. Extensive experience validating production equipment in a pharmaceutical environment informs our design efforts throughout the process. Once approval is attained, we produce full scale production machines to enable rapid ramp-up into production.
