Mechanical engineers

The ITCM team consists of more than 30 professional mechanical engineers with the qualifications, experience and capabilities to design and build custom machinery that provides solutions for many challenging packaging and processing needs. Many of our engineers are Chartered Engineers or are making progress towards this qualification.

We provide a complete development, assembly, and testing service in order to manage risk. Our projects often involve new and unproven manufacturing methods. Bespoke machinery requires a phased development process, proving new technology on a small scale before building full scale equipment. For example, we build test rigs to study the new process steps before building a fully automated production machine.

Our engineers strive to develop their project management skills further. With each project, our team becomes better not only at the technical aspects of the project, but also with leadership. ITCM encourages promotion from within, ensuring that our project leaders are not only skilled at managing scope, cost and schedule, but also have the technical expertise to facilitate important decisions.

Electrical engineers

Our team of professionally qualified electrical engineers provide top quality electrical cabinet design and build to support for our special purpose machines. We are fully approved by the Underwriters Laboratory, as uL 508A and cUL control panel builders. Our technical abilities and the aftermarket support we provide allow our machines to be exported worldwide. To ensure the quality of our work we use GAMP 5 principles, design templates, configuration management systems and robust change control procedures.

Our equipment can perform in harsh environments. We design electrical enclosures to all ingress protection (IP) standards. Our electrical engineers can design machines for full washdown capability.

Software and controls engineers

At ITCM, our controls engineers work with a wide range of technologies to get the best performance from each machine whilst making it as simple to operate as possible. Our highly qualified team provides robust control systems with intuitive and easy to use interfaces. We develop intelligent systems to monitor inputs and react accordingly. Our strong signal processing skills allow closed-loop control, condition monitoring and automated diagnostics.

We utilise a wide range of technologies such as, robotics, PLC’s, HMI’s, microprocessors and servo drive systems, for a variety of platforms including Siemens and Allen-Bradley. We have software expertise with C, C++, SQL, Visual Basic, robotic programming, and vision systems. Our control systems can interface with SCADA and other line documentation systems.

Project management

Excellent project management is essential to project success. At ITCM, each project is assigned a dedicated project manager responsible for its success. Our project managers have the experience and skills necessary to ensure the aim of the project is met. The ‘stage-gate’ approach we use allows risk to be managed throughout the process and ensures results.

Communication is key to our operations. Each project manager ensures that important information is regularly communicated to stakeholders, including all vendors and key customer contacts. Our project managers provide professional advice and ensure that decisions are always in the interest of value to the customer. They aim to keep projects focused on business goals and manage budget and timelines to the best of their ability.
